Manuscript assessment – Substantive/structural (A)
Your manuscript will be read and a written report provided outlining its strengths and weaknesses. ‘Big picture’ issues such as structure, narrative drive, coherence of theme and readability will be addressed for non-fiction. Fictional works will be considered for the strength of the above, as well as characterisation, voice, point of view, use of dialogue, whether the story is largely shown, or told.
Manuscript copy edit (B)
This requires a close reading of the manuscript attending to punctuation, grammar, syntax, clarity of expression, additions and deletions required; drawing attention to the small detail.
This work will be completed directly on the manuscript, whether hard copy or digital.
Assessment + copy edit (C)
The Works – as above.
