Crossing the Alps is the story of Hannah Francis, who was born of an American father and New Zealand-Irish mother, and brought up in New York by her father and grandmother. Now an adult, she returns to New Zealand, but this is no tourist trip. She is about to enter a rehab centre to deal with her alcoholism. In a quiet alpine spa she reluctantly begins to delve into the past that made her what she is today. Having hidden from them for years, she is now prepared to face her demons head on. Courage gives her strength and, when she finds herself at the final crossroads, she has to make one last decision.
